FYP Executive Summary.

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND CHARACTERIZATION OF FIBER-REINFORCED POLYMER COMPOSITES.

2.  Problem statement

In industry, polymers are widely been used in manufacturing of products but polymers have comparatively low strength and elasticity. To improve the strength and elasticity of the polymers, it must have the combination of two or more homogeneous materials with different material properties that act as fibers and matrix. Fiber Reinforced Polymer composites (FRP) is the solution. It has high strength, lightweight and rigid structure. But, FRP also have a certain failure which involves the fibers orientation and the exerted force.

3. Objectives 

To investigate the mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced polymers composites.
 To analyze the orientation of fiber with the exerted force
To perform a physical machining of fiber-reinforced polymer composites.

4. Scope of research

This project focused on investigation of mechanical properties and characterization of fiber reinforced polymer composites and also focused on how to increase the strength of FRP and to eliminates the weak side of the FRP.

5. Expected outcome

The analysis and focus on the mechanical properties and characterization of fiber-reinforced polymer composites will be achieved.
